Old Chevy truck is tired
Просмотров 67414 дней назад
If this truck had a check engine light it would have melted through the dash and burnt the truck down. I love this truck but its close to the end I think, The transmission fluid looks like mud so as soon as the transmission kicks the bucket I think its time to take this thing off the road., although I did put a jug of Lucas in it you never know it might last another year or two...
Been trying for many years to find one of these trucks

You need new starter my bro
If its that cold, you need to heat it up. Use a torch... starting fluid wont do shit if its not warm enough to pop. Not sure how many miles or condition of the engine overall. Torch to the intake is an old timers trick. That and when you get it running, dont shut it off till its up to temp. And a fuel heater is handy. These old 6.2 diesels werent really setup for starting that cold.
If it's not one thing it's another, I feel exactly the same buddy, but change is coming for you guys over there!
What a crappy engine and horrible batteries.
🤣
Once you spray it u gotta run to crank it over
I’m gonna say this as respectfully as I possibly can. you have severe problems with that engine man. In no way should it start like that a few things to check over; 1.what grade of oil are you running, you should be running at least 0W 40 in the winter. 2 how big are your batteries? What shape are they in? You should at least have 2 1000 cold cranking amp batteries. 3. Do that poor starter a favour and take it off have it rebuilt. Redo all the connections from the batteries to the starter. 4. Make sure your fuel system is in good shape, have the injectors tested or get yourself a new set of injectors. I’ve noticed you have a problem with your injection pump, I noticed it was surging at idle, shouldn’t be doing that. Please don’t pump it while cranking it. Hold the pedal at either half throttle if above 32°F or at full throttle for anything below 32°F. That comes out of the owners manual. Pumping it isn’t gonna do you any favors. 5. Final tip, please invest in a block heater or check the one that you have to make sure it’s working, and please do not use ether on that thing you’re gonna kill it. If you’ve done everything else that I’ve suggested you should never have to use ether, I’ve seen these things fire up at Anything above 0°F unplugged and anything below zero as long as they are plugged in.
Needs synthetic oil to crank faster
😂😂😂😂😂
24 volt it. Its flooded. Yes you can flood a diesel. We used to do it to mercedes all the time. And on the farm growing up.
I'd rather have the squarebody over two jeeps and three fat ladies and an old man
Sorry your having a bad day. Hopefully the cop understood.
Dayum that engine bay is crispy 😂
How dare you!! 🤪😂
Granted not everybody who drives a Jeep is a idiot but these days seems far too common. A few mounths back had my Stepside side swiped by a jeep. Worst part my truck was parked and they still hit it with all the room in the world around it.
First hearing her I was trying to remember what movie it's was from. Then I remembered this actually happened. 😂
That's definitely a Karen right there stupid girl.
Dash cams are very important because no one wants to take responsiblity for their actions!
Woman drivers=No survivors
I’ve had my run with Jeep drivers they suck
Sounds like you had a good time nobody's ever brave enough to be that stupid around me
We're so scared, tough guy
@keilveil9153 maybe
and yet were still here
6.2L? Reminds me of my 6.5L but without a turbo.
In my van had bad ground causing really slow crank. have the glow plugs been changed? or the glow plug relay?
your starters weak
nop
Buenas pickup 🛻🛻
Ya should get one of those block heaters that tie into your lower radiator hose, that should atleast help some and keep the engine "warmer " lol but seriously they do help
Fuel has gel up!
@7:55
You gotta wait 20 seconds to Dawson to start over what does oil with those glow Poquito engine you’re doing you’re just doing it is cranking a current like dirt dirt does not work like Your let him sit there for 20/22 with gold. please warm up you’re not doing it correctly.
What? I have no idea what you just said...
Hey Matt you still have that video of that 4l60 on switchs?
yeah search my channel for it, the video with the t bucket is the one you want if you don't want to use the switches to shift and just run a microswitch on the shifter, the s10 is the switches setup
I've seen canadians use a blow torch down the intake while cranking and it worked pretty good.
I lit the intake on fire yesterday, don't really help much, look at my shorts there's a video of it lol , just kept stuffing oil soaked rags in there for about an hour , it was in the shop last night with the heat on and still wouldn't start this morning , it always starts no idea whats going on with it.
A year a go i had a volkswagen polo sdi in finland here was - 20 c freeze an engine had 5w40 oil in those temperatures oil was to thik to turn over after 30 min in blokc heater car was running
Yeah this one has 15/40 in it with lucas lol
@@MattsMadnessOfficial oil is like syrup in the engine. Need heat to be flow better when starting
@@MattsMadnessOfficial molasses
Use synthetic and no Lucas, it'll crank 2x faster
My god that engine is addicted to ether and need a serious rebuild and also get a 1000cca group 31 commercial truck battery, those batteries are far superior to a standard battery especially in the cold
Lmfao , this is the first time I have EVER had to use ether in this engine, it always starts but -20F and 15/40 oil don't mix , no need to rebuild its fine even with the 365K miles on it LOL

Finally a longer video......always loved your content. Hope to see more long videos.
Very hard to find stuff to film I just work everyday hate to film the same stuff over and over, you guys have already seen like 50 engines I've built so I quit filming that lol running out of ideas
@MattsMadnessOfficial i understand 100%
@MattsMadnessOfficial im willing to see more engine builds 🤷♂️🤣
Well if all of the batterys are low hooking 4 up won't get you anywhere 😂
All of the batteries was charged...
That's way way too much either... You're lucky it's not a real diesel cuz you blow the heads right off of it... It's a gas engine diesel conversion
LOL, The 6.2 is NOT a gas conversion engine like the 350 olds
Its absolutely not a gas diesel conversion, where do you get that from?
My grandfather would have just let it sit there and idle all night! I can imagine how much fun you had when you got to work lol.
That there is a DETROIT not an IDI lol. Ford guys are gonna lose their sh¡t when they click this and find out it's a GM 🤣 In all seriousness, I know it's an IDI style diesel.
Should invest in a block heater and or a oil pan heater ! Best $ i ever spent ! Alot cheaper than a new starter !
It has both but never once until today and yesterday has it needed them , this truck always starts right up.
We used to run gm bus conversions with 6.2’s / 6.5’s. We kept them covered in a shed and with block heaters. If the bonehead drivers forgot to plug them in, it was a pita to get them started! Lots of memories! Cheers!
You need yourself a Alberta block heater a section of 6 inch stove pipe and 90 with a tager torch/weed burner make shur the fire don't touch the oil pan otherwise you'll have a 6.2 powered bonfire
I actually started a fire in the intake today to get it going, just some rags soaked in oil.
@MattsMadnessOfficial nothing beats and oil soaked rag lit on fire to warm something up
Watching while thawing my water lines winter is fun
Literally my pipes froze as well & watching this while I try to un thaw them 😂
I used to like winter, not so much anymore.
Ideas for my honda thank you
Mine 85 k5 chevy suburban has a 8v71 detroit diesel i may start its or not it's been sitting for years 10 years
Hang in there buddy. It's only gonna get harder. It definitely sucks right now. Finally dragged my 86 k5 with the 6.2 back out of the weeds and can't even afford to buy some batteries for it lol. But she does look good sitting next to my driveway haha. It'll get better. Love that truck!
Fuckin a man when you said the part about being poor and shit it's like you are talking about me. This economy sucks!!!! I cant afford shit either. Keep your head up man.
Trump 2024 ❤❤❤. I can’t wait for the 20th
Hey I'm by no means a mechanic. Diesels are alien to me for sure. I have a 86 k5 blazer with a 6.2. Theres a fuel leak somewhere and I can really find it. Do you think the fuel injector pump could leak and come out the back of the engine?
They mostly don't leak but the return lines always leak there is a drain hole on the back of the china wall aka back of the intake , if you got fuel leaking out of the back of the intake check return lines and filter if its not mounted to the firewall some are on the firewall some on the back on the intake, spray everything with brake clean and let it dry then start it up try to find the leak, sometimes its rare but the injector lines will rust out and leak
@MattsMadnessOfficial okay, thank you so much for replying!
🤡🤡🤡 HOW CAN YOU FIND YOUR CAMO FORD ,, BURNED UP ,, HAVE A NOTHER SMOKE ,, PILE IN THE CORNER ,, OCD , BASELINE FORDJUNKIES,, FOUND ON THE ROAD DEAD,, OCD
Other than those issues it's fine!
Keep er full of fluids, use old oil on the frame and get 5 more years out of her. Shes just gotten good and broken in
